This is South Sydney

In the inner city villages of South Sydney, abandoned TVs proliferate like ibises around garbage bins. TVs - of all shapes and sizes, of all vintages and technologies - cluster on pavements and roadsides.

Are they abandoned by locals or dropped off in drive-by dumpings by neighbours from more affluent suburbs? Who knows.

All I know is everywhere I look, I see TVs: the detritus of the post-modern age, roadkill on the slippery slope of consumerism.
